Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information VideoDropper handles when you use our website and tools, and why we handle it.
What you give us: when you paste a link into the downloader, we receive that link so we can find the media in the public post or story. We do not ask for your Instagram username, password or any account details, and you do not need an account to use the service.
Third-party lookup services: to read public post and story information, the link you paste is sent to third-party services that we use for this purpose. They receive the link and the details needed to answer the request. We do not sell personal data to anyone.
Downloads: media files pass through our server only so that they can be delivered to you. We do not keep copies of the files after delivery. Our server may keep short-term technical logs, such as request times and error details, for troubleshooting and security. We do not use these logs to identify you.
Reviews: if you submit a review, we collect your name, your star rating, your review text and your consent. Reviews are checked by the site admin before they are published. Approved reviews are shown publicly with the name you entered. Unapproved reviews are not shown on the site.
Protection against abuse: to limit spam and misuse, we use a salted hash of your IP address for rate limiting and review limits. We do not store your raw IP address in review data.
Cookies and tracking: the only cookie we set is the one used for the site admin login. We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, we will update this policy.
Hosting: our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, including your IP address and browser type, as part of running the service.
Your rights: you can ask us to remove a review you submitted, or ask what personal information we hold about you, by contacting us at the address on the Contact page. Where privacy laws in your country give you additional rights, such as access, correction or deletion, we will respect them.
Children: VideoDropper is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes: we may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
